The 1950's might have been a time off innocence, but the cars were just starting to get mean. The introduction of the V8 sedan by Chevy in 1955 really turned the world on its ear and got the attention of hot rodders who had run out of options for getting more power out of their old Ford flatheads. In 1956, the Chevy sedan didn't change a whole lot, just some basic cosmetic differences like grille, trim, tail lights and so on.
